There are over 22,000 adult carers living or caring in North Tyneside. Caring can happen at any time in someone's life, and can be an ongoing or temporary role.
As a carer you may provide unpaid support for a family member, friend, partner or neighbour who could not manage without your support due to an illness, disability, substance misuse or mental health.
At North Tyneside Carers' Centre we understand and recognise the impact caring can have on your own health and wellbeing. We provide a confidential support service, individually tailored to meet your needs. Support includes, but is not limited to:
- understanding your rights as a carer
- information, advice and guidance on any issue which is impacting on your caring role
- advocacy support to ensure your voice is heard
- peer support and access to emotional support
- training to help you care with confidence
On our website you will find information and advice which carers have identified as being important to them.
