Show your support for our young carers and enjoy a Stride out to St Mary's Lighthouse!

Elected Mayor Norma Redfearn, CBE, is inviting residents and visitors to join her on a family walk on Saturday, 1 September, 2018, starting at 10.30 am from The Parks Sports Centre,  Howdon Road, North Shields, NE29 6TL.

Active North Tyneside is encouraging people to take part in this FREE 10K family walk; an event that has proved extremely popular in past years.

This year's event will support North Tyneside Carers' Centre's Young Carers' Project, with all donations made on the day going to the charity.

The six mile walk, which is expected to finish at approximately 1.30 pm, will follow the coastal route, past North Shields Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle along to Whitley Bay, taking in the iconic, newly refurbished Spanish City Dome, before reaching its final destination at St Mary's Lighthouse.

Walkers can decide on their own pace; either leisurely or brisk. Free coach transport to take participants back to the Parks will be available.

There may be availability on the day but those wishing to guarantee a place are strongly recommended to register a place by visiting:

Please support our young carers and have a great day out in the process!!
