Coronavirus (COVID-19) and North Tyneside Carers’ Centre – Wednesday 1st April

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and North Tyneside Carers’ Centre
Wednesday 1st April 2020

The team are keeping a close eye on the daily news briefings regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and how it may affect carers. I’d like to take this opportunity to once again reassure carers with an update of what we are doing to provide you with support during these very difficult times.

The Carers’ Centre building will remain closed until further notice, but all staff are working from home and are working on launching a brand new Live Chat service on our website which will be available during office hours, as an alternative means of communication. We are also making great progress developing plans to deliver online groups, e-learning and fun activities, which we will share very soon.

I’d like to share a reminder that North Tyneside Council’s COVID-19 helpline is available for any resident needing support or advice. Please call 0345 2000 10 to access this service.

We also have additional support from North Tyneside Healthwatch, who will be supporting the Centre to check in with as many carers as possible during these difficult times.

I’d like to urge all carers too don’t wait for us to call, if you need us before we get to you on our list, please ring us or get in touch via email or Live Chat.

Our Advice Line (0191 643 2298) will be open as usual for information, advice and support:

Monday to Wednesday 10am – 4pm
Thursday 1pm – 4pm
Friday 10am – 4pm

If you contact us and go through to voicemail, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also contact us by email at enquiries@northtyneisdecarers.co.uk.

Stay safe and stay well
