It is lovely to start the new year with some good news; it has been announced that the Carer’s Leave Act 2023 Act becomes law on the 6^th of April 2024!

The Carer’s Leave Act gives unpaid carers the legal right to take up to their equivalent working week in unpaid leave from work a year to support their caring responsibilities. Up until now, carers have only been able to take time off for emergencies. The new law means carers can take time away from work for things like hospital appointments or meetings with social workers.
