Carers Rights Day
Having the correct information at the right time can make a huge difference when you are looking after someone. Each year organisations across the UK get together to help carers in their local community find out about their rights and how to get the help and support they are entitled to.
In 2015, Carers' Rights Day was held on 20 November. We celebrated the day by hosting a range of talks and information sessions, including:
- One to one benefits advice
- Lasting Power of the Attorney talk by Ben Hoare Bell solicitors
- The Care Act and Carer's Assessment talk
- Pension Wise talk by North Tyneside Citizen Advice Bureau
Carers Rights Day also marked the launch of the new initiative North Tyneside’s Commitment to Carers 2015. Elected Mayor Norma Redfearn joined us for the launch of the initiative, a pertnership between North Tyneside Carers' Centre and the Local Authority.
