Young Adult Carers
We provide support for Young Adult Carers between the ages of 16 to 25 years.
Our objectives:
- Specialist and tailored 1:1 casework support focusing on the young adult carers’ unique caring roles, responsibilities, and how to manage these whilst pursuing their aspirations.
- Life skills training focusing on integral areas of adult life such as budget management, first aid, and independent living.
- Reducing social isolation through connecting young adult carers and increasing their confidence via peer support opportunities.
- Awareness raising sessions across the sectors including employers, training providers, educational establishments, and statutory organisations

The North East Combined Authority (North East CA) was formed on 7 May 2024. It is led by Elected Mayor Kim McGuinness and the Cabinet and covers the seven local authority areas of County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
